Most private piano teachers only offer you private lessons. It’s a one-size-fits-all situation. At The Taylor Studio, I believe that every child is unique and every family has different requirements for their music study. One size can’t possibly fit all.

You’ve probably come to this page because you have doubts about private lessons. Maybe you aren’t quite sure your child will take to piano lessons even though they have shown interest at home. Maybe your child isn’t comfortable in one on one situations or perhaps you have more than one child and would like to get everyone started on the same page. Or maybe you just want to test the waters before making a big financial commitment.

Our six-week long Introduction to Piano class offers your child the opportunity to learn the basics of piano along with other kids who are just beginning themselves. It’s a collaborative learning environment unique to a group class. Students in Introduction to Piano learn the basics of how to read music as well as a couple of simple songs on the keyboard. There is no out of class work which makes it perfect if you do not yet have a piano or your child is thinking about playing an instrument other than piano. And when students complete Introduction to Piano, they are invited to join our private piano kids during their group class week so they can experience first hand what the rest of the studio is like.

Students who have completed Introduction to Piano have continued on to private lessons with great success.
